Seven doctors under investigation for the mistreatment of Michael Jackson have been cleared of charges by a California district attorney. The group, which does not include Dr. Conrad Murray, was part of an inquiry lead by Attorney General Jerry Brown's Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement. According to bureau spokesperson Christine Gasparac, one of the seven physicians will now face an investigation by the California Medical Board.

According to bureau spokesperson Christine Gasparac, one of the seven physicians will now face an investigation by the California Medical Board. That doctor allegedly prescribed drugs to an alias that Jackson used toward the end of his life.

The singer's primary doctor, Conrad Murray, has previously pleaded not-guilty to felony involuntary manslaughter charges and surrendered himself to authorities in California to stand trial earlier this year. He is set to appear in court in August and faces up to four years behind bars.

Brian Oxman, an attorney for MJ's father Joe Jackson, says of the decision to clear the doctors: "I am very disappointed. The misuse of medications by Michael Jackson in the last years of his life was excessive and to fail to bring that to the public eye is ignoring reality."

At a conference in Music City on Thursday, Rascal Flatts bassist and vocalist Jay DeMarcus confirmed their new deal with Big Machine, the home of Taylor Swift and several others.

Big Machine's president and CEO, Scott Borchetta, commented on the signing, calling it "a new beginning and a new partnership." He added that his "whole team is ecstatic."

"We feel we have so much left to do . . . . We're grateful someone wants us after 10 years," DeMarcus says.

Borchetta and the band also used this week's conference to unveil the artwork for the next Rascal Flatts album, Nothing Like This, which is due out in the fall.

Crooner Marc Anthony has announced new tour dates throughout the U.S., in addition to his current shows in Latin America. The North American tour kicks off in New York City on September 10 and will continue straight though October 2, when the singer will wrap things up in Rosemont, Illinois. Anthony has already started his Latin American run with upcoming shows in Ecuador, Peru and Colombia in the coming weeks. The five-time Grammy-winner is promoting his latest album, Iconos.
